In agricultural resilience, the focus is on absorbing stresses and continuing the activity of the agricultural system without major changes in the internal structure of the system. Water and soil are key elements in rice cultivation. Considering that Guilan province is one of the major rice producers in Iran, it is essential to investigate the factors affecting the resilience of agricultural water and soil in this province. This study aimed to evaluate the county-level resilience of agricultural water and soil resources in Guilan province. In this study, the opinions of experts in the field of water and soil in Guilan province and previous studies were used to design the decision tree of the combined agricultural water and soil resources system. The data required to achieve the research objective was collected using the database available in the Guilan Province Agricultural Jihad Organization. Using the Ward clustering method and Euclidean distance, the counties of Guilan province were divided into two clusters with high and low resilience. The results of Ward clustering showed that the counties of Astane Ashrafieh, Lahijan, Langaroud, Somesara, and Rasht have appropriate status in the resilience of water and soil resources. Coping with long-term stresses and shocks in the farming system requires forecasting and planning. Also, Planning requires full knowledge of the current status of water and soil resources resilience of paddy farms in the study area. This research contributes to our better understanding of water and soil resources resilience status in the paddy farms of Guilan province and identifies indicators that affect the resilience of water and soil resources.
